Thanksgiving Holidays....

Was great! We went to my mom and dad's the night before Thanksgiving and spent the night. My sister, mom, and I cooked while all the boys and Macie and Mia played Rockband! As you can see, Kylan was trying to play. Hey, you never know, maybe he's going to play the drums:
We all loved seeing family that we hardly get to see anymore and all the yummy food. Kylan was loving playing with his cousins, now that he can run around with them. Here, Mia and Kylan are looking out the window:

After the exhausting Thanksgiving, we came home and I slept and slept and slept. Scott got up with Kylan Friday morning and let me sleep in while he made breakfast. I got up, ate, then went back to bed until 12:00. Ohhhhhh, it was sooo nice. I had to force myself out of bed because I knew we had to put up the Christmas Decorations inside. Couldn't do the outside since it was raining all day. Here are a few pictures of Kylan helping:

Here, he is putting his first ornament on the tree!

Here, he's loving on a Santa that Scott had when he was little!

He loves to play in the beads!

We aren't done decorating. It usually takes me a while since I put up so much. I will put up some more pictures when I am done. Well, gotta go decorate my mantel while Kylan sleeps. He's been kinda miserable the last couple of days since he has some more molars coming through! Talk to everyone later! :-)

Season of Giving!

'Tis the season for giving so I have decided to start Kylan on a tradition that I hope he sticks with the rest of his life. When we go and take pictures with Santa on the 3rd, I am going to give Kylan a dollar to put in the Salvation Army bucket when we go in. Of course, next year will be his money since he will know what's going on then. I feel that it will help give him good morals and help him realize as he get older that now matter how bad we have it, there is always someone that has it worse. We are going to start out with this and hopefully as he gets older, donate a little throughout the year. I know I donate to St. Judes every year and it makes me feel so good to donate towards a good cause so hopefully we can find him a little charity that he would be interested in donating to when he gets old enough to choose. I want him to learn how to share and be thankful for what he has. Just a little thought! I will be sure to take pictures to capture his first donation! :-) Hope everyone is having a great week!

Yay....

Thank goodness we got his test results back and his blood count is OK and his allergy to wheat test came back negative!! WoooHooo

On another note, I am sooo proud of Kylan! We have been working really hard on trying to get him to eat with a spoon or fork by himself. It's been really hard trying to teach him to scoop up the food instead of just pushing it around since he really doesn't want us to help him do anything. We would grab ahold of his hand and try to show him and he would pull away and scream. He's out of that phase and well, he's finally doing it all by himself. Half of the food may end up in his lap but he is getting some in this mouth on his own. I managed to get a couple of pictures eating rice and chicken:

He's getting to be such a big boy! :-) :-( It's a bittersweet moment!

Last night, I went to the Sarah Brightman concert last night and had so much fun. My Mom, Tom, and I went to the W Hotel to have a few cocktails (as Tom says) and then went to eat at Perry's. It's a really good steakhouse that's a couple blocks down from the Crescent Hotel in downtown Dallas. It was soooooooo yummy! After that, we came back to the AAC for the concert! I just love her. She has the most beautiful voice that I have ever heard. I like her concerts because she is actually singing and she sounds exactly whats on her Cd's. Anyway, I can't wait for her to come back to Dallas so we can go again. After that, we went back to the hotel and had ANOTHER glass of wine (or at least, that's what I had). I ended finally getting back home and going to bed around 12:30 or so. It was soooo fun just us girls (lol) going out, catching up, and having fun. I took off today because I figured I would be too tired to go to work so one more day of work and then it's the weekend!! Yay!!!! TTYL

Kylan's Pumpkin Patch....

Well, I finally got around to doing Kylan's Pumpkin Patch!! I really wanted to paint Kylan's Pumpkin Patch on a wood pumpkin but I couldn't find a cutout of a pumpkin. It turned out cute so maybe I can go ahead and try to look for a wood pumpkin to do that for next year. Aunt Tay-Tay helped out along with me and Scott. Kylan was pretty good seeing as how he had a molar that just broke through and another one that's about to! Here are some pics from the weekend:

On Saturday, my mom, Kylan, and I went shopping and I got the cutest slippers for Christmas. Kylan loves them. I got a Santa pair and a reindeer pair, but I only got a picture of the Santa ones:
He's walking in this one

I love his chunky little thighs on this one

He decided to sit in my lap on this one

Until later, have a great night! :-)

Trip to the tummy doctor....

Went well!! He asked us all kinds of questions about who in the family had certain diseases and when did he switch milks and formulas, etc. We told him he's been on basically everything and he told us exactly what we knew, just Kylan's pediatrician keeps testing!! He basically has a milk protein allergy where he can't even tolerate soy milk. He told us that he probably would have grown out of it but since we kept testing to see if he could tolerate regular formula and milk, that kept feeding his allergy. Soooo, what he has to drink for 2 weeks until his checkup is Rice Milk. Dr. Kendall told us that no one is allergic to Rice Milk so if his pooping improves in the next two weeks, he definitely has a milk protein allergy. If the rice milk works, then he will keep him on that until he is around 5 years old. He said that would be long enough for his little immunities to forget about that allergy and he should be able to tolerate dairy!! He can't even have one bite of anything with soy or milk which includes ice cream, yogurt, etc. Which means for us, we have to read every ingredient on everything he eats to make sure there is not milk protein or soy protein. He can have things with soy lecithin and soybean oil just no soy protein!! Soooo, whoever reads this, NO DAIRY OR SOY PRODUCTS AT ALL!!!!!! DOCTOR'S ORDERS!! It's going to be so hard trying to monitor every little thing he eats when he's not in our possession so we are going to need every bit of help we can get by cooperation! We would greatly appreciate it! :-)
We also had to get some blood work done to see what his blood count is and if he has an allergy to wheat (which I really hope he doesn't have!!) Oh, he did a quick little test in office and he doesn't have any blood in his stool anymore!! YAY! I will keep everyone updated on the blood tests.

Update....

Well, the O & P test finally came back as negative. Sooooooo, the doctor said he wants to do 3 more samples to test and see if there is still blood in his stool and he wants to do a blood count test. Depending on what that comes back as, he might want to refer him to a pediatric GI specialist. That's when I spoke up and said that we are going to one at Medical City on Friday. So we are going to wait and see what he says and I will call his regular doctor back on Monday to let them know. I just hope there is nothing serious wrong with him. All I can do is just pray pray pray!!
Well off to go get the lovely flu shot!! :-( Not looking forward to it at all!

Update....

Well, just heard from the doctor's office and it's officially not crypto or roto-virus!! Which I kinda figured anyway but at least we know for sure. Now I am just waiting for the O&P (ova and parasite) test. Keep yall updated! :-)

Happy Halloween....

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted. I've had alot on my plate being busy at work and dealing with Kylan and his illness. For some reason he's been going poopy about 8 to 10 times a day (which is not normal) since the Friday before last. I called the dr. because it hadn't cleared up over the weekend and he just couldn't get rid of his diaper rash. I figured if it was a stomach bug, it would have mostly cleared up by then. So anyway, I called the dr. and they wanted me to go get some stool sample jars from the hospital and get 3 samples so they could do some lab work. Well, I did that and got them to the hospital on Tuesday night. They did some tests overnight and the dr. called saying that it had tested positive for blood in the stool. Immediately, I got worried and asked what it could be but the nurse said they had to wait on the other tests for crypto, roto-virus, and some other test to come back before they could tell me for sure. She said it could be as late as Monday before we hear anything. So we get the lovely task of just sitting around and waiting. Meanwhile, I made an appointment with a specialist at Medical City for Friday, the 7th to see if there is anything wrong internally. I wouldn't be making a big deal if we hadn't had so many problems with his bowels and little tummy! :-( Hopefully everything is OK. Here are some pictures from the week and his cute little Monkey Costume.... Also, I have some video at the end of the pictures of Kylan while him and Daddy were cleaning out the pumpkin....
This is carving the Pumpkin....
Kylan posing with his 2 pumpkins he picked out and the finished one...
This was also the night we found out about blood in the stool, I didn't want to leave him....
And our little Monkey....
A Monkey and his banana at Granny's....
This is hilarious. He hated the way the guts of the pumpkin felt!! LOL

I'll keep everyone updated on the situation with Kylan whenever we find out something!!
