I am a BAD BLOGGER!!! :-/

I have been a bad blogger! I haven't updated this thing in 2 weeks!!!

Anyway, we have been pretty busy with Christmas and all. I have to say that this Christmas was more special than last Christmas because Kylan was old enough to unwrap his own presents and preform for everyone. Don't get me wrong, last Christmas was special because it was our first Christmas with our Lil Man, but this Christmas was ALOT more active!! :-) Kylan has started this thing where when he gets really excited, he does this thing with his hands sticking out and shrieks "Ohhhhhhhh". It's too cute! He was going around saying "Ho Ho Ho" and just jibber jabbing all day long. That boy can talk your ear off!! LOL He is starting to sing, mostly "Dappy Dirtday Do Do" which translates into "Happy Birthday To You" and just jibber jabber songs. Anyway, attached are some pictures of him unwrapping gifts on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I didn't take too many pictures at home because I was trying to video him getting his first present from Santa!

This one is a collage from Christmas Eve at Grana and Pappy's. There were too many to just upload.
And here is on Christmas Day at Scott's Grandparent's house.

Attached are also some pics from Christmas Day at our house. I mostly did video so there aren't too many. He loved his Kitchen that Santa brought him. Every time we go in his play room, it's like a tornado came through there! LOL

We are going to have to watch out with this kitchen though because this boy likes to climb! :-/
Anyway, I have a couple more pictures on the computer at home so I will be updating the blog in a little while.
Today is New Year's Eve! I can't believe how fast 2008 has gone by. I am just hoping that 2009 starts better than the way 2008 ended! I am just thankful for what we have and that everyone that we love is healthy! I want to wish everyone a Safe and Happy New Year!

Finally, Another Post!

I know, I know, it's been awhile!! I've been slacking! Well, last weekend, Scott and I went on our getaway weekend to Fredericksburg. It was so nice and peaceful. I took off Friday so my sister came over wit the kids because they were also staying with my mom that weekend and my mom came and picked them up around 1:00 or so. We had just bought one of those Garmin Navigation things to guide us our destination and it took us through the back roads. (Very interesting!!) It took us through what seemed like some VERY steep hills and back roads where I counted 5 dead deer within a 5 mile radius of each other. We got there around dark and we had to check-in downtown so the first thing we see is the beautiful town at night with all the Christmas lights up. Once we got the directions from the office to the house, we were finally on the way. We were driving along and there, we spotted some deer just eating on the sides of the roads and in people's yards. We keep driving and we finally find our little place and drive into the driveway and there, we saw a whole bunch of deer just eating and lounging around in the front yards of the little houses! Being from the city, you just don't see that everyday! All in all, it was a very nice and relaxing trip. We spent all day Saturday going from shop to shop, fighting the horrible wind, and just taking our time at everything we did. We had no time limits and it was just nice to just go and do what we want with no restrictions. Next time we go, I would like to stay at the same place and go to some wine vineyards. We could have went this time but it was kinda expensive and everything is dormant so maybe in the spring or summer we can go again! I would definitely recommend this place. It's Palo Alto Creek Farm and there are several little places you can stay at. I put some pictures from the little getaway down below:

View from the inside: Note, all the original frame is still there(very rustic and cozy)

The year the actual barn was built:

And here are some pictures we tried to get of the deer eating in the front yard:
This was in the back where they have a feeder:
On another note, here is a hilarious video that we got of Kylan and Chloe. At the beginning, he is trying to call Bandit (the dog). Notice what he tries to do to poor kitty: (LOL)

Now, I can't wait until Christmas next week and spend time with some family! Now I just have to get in the recipe book or try and think of something to make for my co-workers next Monday. Hmmmmmmm, Let me think! Maybe I will just make them some cookies or something. Anyway, I hope I can update the blog before Christmas but if not, I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas!

Starting off the Christmas Season not so great!

Starting Monday, Kylan was still sick with his cold so he went to the doctor. He has a sinus infection. Then, on Tuesday, I was feeling like I had been run over with a truck so I went to the doctor, I have a sinus infection. Then, we got some pretty bad news about mid-morning Tuesday!! I haven't really wanted to talk about it but I guess I better do it to keep everyone up to date on the Maliska Fam! Scott had a meeting at his head office in Dallas and come to find out, they are shutting the doors. They had filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy a couple of months ago and they had to find an investor. Well, they had one and the investor backed out at the last minute. So what does that means for Scott and everyone else in the company? That means everyone is laid off! :-( I just don't know why they couldn't wait until after the holiday season. Thankfully, he is getting some severance pay. So, this week has pretty much sucked and we are just trying to get over the shock and trying to not show too much emotion in front of Kylan. He has been our shining light these past couple of days though. I had already planned on taking off so we could take Kylan to see Santa and not have to wait 8 hours like we did last year. So, we went ahead and did that. It was bitter sweet because Kylan loved sitting in Santa's lap and he looked so cute but unfortunately, Santa is in the mall so it wasn't too much fun. Christmas is going to be a little slim but we are trying to be positive in the situation. On another note, here are some recent pictures. Enjoy!
Here is our silver first initials for our tree:

Meanwhile, I hope this holiday season gets better! I know it could be alot worse. I just keep telling myself that. I am just looking forward to the 12th so Scott and I can go on our getaway weekend that we need badly. We thought about canceling it but I think it would do us some good to get away from everyone and everything and leave all our worries at home.
Talk to yall later!
